d a brick to break into 78-year-old Margaret Gooding's home while a third suspect waited outside. Officials say Gooding, who owns a handgun, fought back and three exchanged gunfire. Gooding was shot at least once in the stomach. The suspects weren't hurt, according to officials. That's when investigators say the suspects stuffed her into the trunk of her car and took off, finally abandoning the car 25 miles away in Walterboro, South Carolina. Gooding was found alive 12 hours later by a nearby business owner. She is now recovering in the hospital. Stevie Lamont Aiken, 30, and Nathaniel Harris, 48, were charged with burglary first, kidnapping, assault and battery with intent to kill, grand larceny, felon in possession of a weapon and armed robbery. Aiken's brother, Derrick, was charged with accessory before and after the fact.And here is the rest of it.
